Education International has written an open letter to the Secretary General of the UN expressing outrage at the treatment of union delegates at the United Nations Commission on the Stautus of Women (UNCSW)

The 54th congress of the UNSCW is being held in New York and delegates are there from around the world including delegations from the four global unions Public Services International, the International Trade Union Confederation,  Union Netwrok International and Education International (EI). Delegates complain of being made to queue for up to nine hours and that all the decisions have been made in advance of the congress. Jan Eastman - deputy General Secretary of EI, in her letter to Ban Ki-Moon says: “Women from around the world have come to the CSW in hopes of being heard, and have invested considerable time and resources to get here. They have experienced discouragement and a profound sense of disrespect”
