iranblog3.jpg Demonstration of Iranian Teachers Teachers in Iran are due to go on strike next week if their demands are not met. The strike is primarily about pay After long negotiations between the teachers' union and the government a deal was reached in 2006 to ensure that all teachers were being paid according to a unified scale. However this deal has yet to be implemented. The unions is also demanding proper job contracts for part time teachers. According to reports there is much support for the strike amongst teachers. Education International is supporting the teachers' action and has written to the Iranian President. Read more at the following link:
