Farzad Kamangar, the Iranian teacher trade unionist who was due to be executed yesterday is still alive according to the EI website today
Farzad Kamangar has been sentenced to death in Iran but like thousands of other teacher trade unionists all over the world his only crime has been to fight for minority and women’s rights. An earlier post on this site includes a letter from Egitim Sen - the Turkish teachers’ union to Mahmoud Amahdinejad protesting the death sentence. Education International is organising a campaign of protest to the Iranian President.
