Los Angeles Teachers Demonstrating against Cuts Earlier this Year
Teachers in Los Angeles, USA are to vote on a one day strike in protest against projected redundancies
The Los Angeles Education Department has voted by a narrow majority for a budget which could see 3,500 teachers losing their jobs. The United Teachers of Los Angeles are planning a day of action on May 15th including picketing of schools and rallies in the afternoon. As well as protesting against layoffs the teachers are protesting about the increased class sizes which would inevitably result.
