 Protesting Teachers Arrested in South Korea

Members of the South Koran Teachers and Education Workers union have been arrested following protests

Members of the 76,000 strong teachers union had signed a petition demanding the defence of quality education in South Korea and respect for human rights. As a result 10 leaders of the union have been dismissed and 78 suspended. The resultant protests led to the arrest of 16 members of the union.
