Gaza School destroyed in 2008
Schools in the town of Khan Younis in Gaza have been evacuated as a result of Israeli bombardments
Social media sites are reporting news of Israeli air strikes on Gaza, which have resulted in four deaths according to reports. Schools in Khan Younis have been evacuated as a result. It is the second time this month that the schools in the town have been evacuated.
Gaza was illegally occupied by the Israelis until 2005, and since then the area has been effectively under siege. At the end of the year 2008, Israel attacked Gaza, killing 1300 people and destroying or partially destroying 135 schools and leaving 80% of the population reliant on food aid.
