A Casualty of the Repression in Bahrain Bahraini security forces are launching brutal attacks on children and teachers The security forces - helped by soldiers from the neighbouring dictatorship Saudi Arabia - are stopping school buses and beating children who do not have pictures of the king of Bahrain in their text books, according to a report in the UK Observer newspaper. In addition many teachers have been arrested for taking part in the strike which demanded the resignation of the Education Minister (see previous posts) As previously reprted, leaders of the teachers' union have been arrested and on 6th April the Social Development Ministry shut down the Bahrain Teachers' Union as well as the doctors' union. Education International has issued a statement condemning the attacks.
